During the design process, several
assumptions were made. The device is intended
for any horizontal revolving carnival rides that follows a hypocycloid pattern. As an example, we use the Wisdom Sizzler at
Canadian National Exhibition (CNE), to demonstrate our concept. The specification of this ride can be found
in the appendix.
A
measurement unit will be placed and hidden within the passenger seating
compartment, where it will gather ride measurement data. The measurement unit should also be
responsible for executing any necessary calculations prior to data
transfer. A wireless communication
device will be used to bridge the connection between the measurement unit and
the data collection unit. The data
collection unit will store the received information and execute any post
processing necessary.
